A great little pub, often busy at the weekends and not empty on a wet Wednesday in February. The pub whippet sleeps soundly under a duvet near the open fire and the locals say hello as you arrive, its not necessary to say the atmosphere is perfect, I should say that the food is also very good. The menu is short but has enough for most tastes, the staff are friendly and serve you with a smile.
What more can we say other than our Dog was welcomed by all and we truly enjoyed the evening.

Good food, slick service, value for money, great atmosphere, nice people, exciting ideas brilliantly executed - is that too much to ask for? We don't think so. We are in our early 40s and live in West Sussex but travel for work throughout the UK and Europe. We might be a bit picky but we want to celebrate the good rather than whinge about the bad. So, wherever we go we'll post a review and let you know what we find and whether it is worth a visit or not.

Little Dudley House - Dorking
An upmarket gastro pub/brasserie that delivers most of what it promises. The ambience is lovely and the service impeccable. The menu is varied including a fabulous beer battered fish and chips that was huge. Other mains include various steaks with frites, lobster, pork in cream sauce and a chickpea cottage pie. There is a lighter menu too with serves salads and a great looking fish finger sandwich. My only criticism is that it is all a bit safe but I suppose sometimes that's a good thing?

Denbies - Dorking
A truly awful meal. The pork chop was fairly tender but a challenge to cut up with the cutlery provided. The carrots and broccoli looked exhausted at 12,30p.m. and proved to be impossible to cut or eat. Along with the roast potatoes the whole meal was cold! Surely knowing that there is usually a queue to pay the plates should have been hot and covered. A real disappointment as everything else at DENBIES is delightful.
