By the Bay - Lyme Regis

A new restaurant come bar right on the seafront in Lyme Regis.  Overlooking the fabulous Lyme Bay and the famous Cob.  Our food was good, the staff friendly and the service excellent.  Well worth the trip and the walk across the seafront for lunch or dinner.

La Quilla Lyme Regis

Well, our second visit in the last 12 months and it saved the day.  Having walked out of the ‘Italian’ Lyme Bay we were expecting to go hungry [Lyme Regis in January is very quiet] but no, the Indian La Quilla was open and thriving.  Its BYO so pop in to the Tescos or Coop at the top of the hill first.  Well worth a visit and not as a second choice.

Lyme Bay - Lyme Regis

Absolutely terrible.  It might be the first weekend of the season, they might have new staff, we might have been very unlucky but wow, it couldn’t have been worse.  The smoke from the kitchen combined with the disgruntled looks on the other 2 tables should have told us something.  Its supposed to be Italian although I didn’t see or hear an accent to help authenticate that.  Mrs Wilsons main course didn’t resemble the menu item other than the tuna, crushed olive mash had been replaced by new potatoes and Mediterranean veg had been replaced by limp lettuce.  We left and refused to pay for the mains.
